About

Designer Emma Bradbury specialises in blending traditional knitting techniques and patterns with a hand -painted print process. The treatment distorts the regularity of a knitted stripe making each design individual and shows evidence of the craft makers hand work.

Inspiration comes from colourful influences from around the world and traditional British knitting techniques such as Fair Isle patterns and Guernsey knitting.

Following the response to her final graduate show at the Royal College of Art in 2010, Emma has teamed up with Orkney based designer Ingrid Tait of Tait and Style to collaborate on a collection of scarves available HERE

Motivated by their excitement for all things knitted, they combine their delight for wool and colourful creativity to produce fine gauge merino scarves and wraps made in Scotland.

Emma is proud to announce that she is a selected designer/maker on the Crafts Council’s ‘Hothouse’ scheme. Hothouse is a national programme to promote new creative talent and emerging designer makers.
