Daks – Autumn/Winter 2011 – Knit Brit

Last year I was asked by DAKS if I would work with them on their knitwear collection for Autumn/Winter 2011 and today was the unveiling of DAKS new collection at Somerset House for London Fashion Week.

The project focused on Daks fashion heritage, traditional knitting techniques and celebrated the use of British wool and production techniques. The pieces I made for this collection were hand-made from British Blue-faced Leicester and Shetland wool. Inkeeping with the ‘British Heritage’ theme of the collection, a bespoke Blue-faced Leicester yarn was spun by Yorkshire spinners ‘Laxtons’.

It has been an exciting collaboration working with Daks as it has brought together my love for design, traditional craft, fashion and all things sheepy.

Here are my pieces – view the collection in full here: www.londonfashionweek.com
